I was born in West Sussex. My working life has encompassed all aspects of the media including broadcasting, journalism, lobbying, speech writing and conceiving and managing publicity campaigns for a variety of businesses, organisations and individuals.
I am a father, husband and son. I have held a variety of jobs ranging from beetroot boiler and pan scrubber to waiter and bank clerk. I have travelled to many places and lived in the West Indies for a few years as a child. The majority of my views are formed from life experiences. I don't believe in political labels though I suspect I have libertarian tendancies.
I enjoy red wine, real ale and Earl Grey tea – I puff on Cuban cigars and the occasional pipe. I believe more men should wear double cuff shirts and cuff links. The Duncan Barkes Show has been airing across Liverpool, North Wales and the Northwest of England since January 2008 bringing a new kind of talk radio to the region and gaining love and hate in almost equal measure.
